The Best Water Parks in Vietnam

The Best Water Parks in Vietnam

Summer is here and there is no better time than now to visit a Water Park! It is the perfect place not only for children but for you adults as well to let go of your inhibitions and scream your head off on super-steep water slides, basically have lots of uninterrupted fun with your family and friends. Vietnam has some of the best water parks in the world, and two of them, Suoi Tien Theme Park and West Lake Water Park were even featured on Buzzfeed US’s “Ridiculously Cool” Water Parks List!

Suoi Tien Theme Park

Suoi Tien Theme Park in Ho-Chi Minh City is Vietnam’s version of the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ that is Disney Land. It is the world’s first Water Park devoted to Buddhism and it focuses on Vietnamese history, folklore and of course on Buddha himself. You can enjoy water activities at Dong Beach, aquarium, parades and rollercoaster rides. You can also see the staff dressed as monkeys of golden color performing all sorts of tricks and interacting with the young ones. However, an interesting aspect of Suoi Tien Park is their Crocodile Kingdom which features a pond with over 1500 live crocodiles and where the visitors are invited to feed these crocodiles with raw meat linked onto fishing poles. However, Unicorn Palace is definitely the most terrifying one,  it is actually a surprise horror house, and graphically displays the depiction of Buddhist Hell! The best time of the year to visit here would be The Lunar New Year Season, Mid-Autumn Festival and The Hung King Anniversary as there are extra traditional activities and seasonal festivities for tourists to enjoy. The Park is open daily and is a 40 minute car ride from the City Centre.

West Lake Water Park

West Lake Water Park which is also known as Ho Tay Water Park, is about 7 KM away from the city center and covers a massive area of 35,560 square meters. It has different entertainment sections for everyone ranging from high speed sliding lanes for singles, black thrilling lanes for couples and even carpet sliding lanes. For those of you who are not very much into heights and would rather relax, you can head to the ‘Lazy Stream’ where the artificial currents will drive you around the park to give you a chance to sunbathe while sightseeing the poetic West Lake. Thrill Seekers looking for strong high surf, have come to the right place as there is a 3 meters depth wave making pool with waves about 1-2 meters high. Of course, the children haven’t been forgotten, located right beside the Water Park, is Moon Park with dozens of games for youngsters and kids including a magnificent Ferris Wheel, that lifts you to a height of 60m and offers the whole great view of West Lake including part of Hanoi. There is also the New Sun Park which houses an amusement complex with more challenging games such as roller coasters. And right outside the parks, is the famous Sen Ho Tay restaurant where you can indulge yourself in a delicious & traditional Vietnamese Buffet Spread.

Vinpearl Land Nha Trang Amusement Park

Another fantastic attraction in Vietnam is The Vinpearl Land Nha Trang Amusement Park, which is designed to be an independent recreational area and is conveniently linked to the 5-Star International Vinpearl Resort. The Water Park is proud to accommodate South Asia’s biggest wave pool and if you thought that was impressive, wait till you hear this – Vinpearl Land Nha Trang is also home to the longest sea cable car in the world!

Beware of long queues though, I’d recommend visiting this attraction right at the beginning and then exploring the rest of the park. The ride in itself takes only about 10 minutes and goes by very quickly so make sure you have your camera or phone ready in hand. The water slides in the park operate on a timely schedule so grab a copy beforehand to ensure you don’t miss out on anything. There are numerous water slides for you to enjoy and if you need a quick break then you can relax on the all year round blue sea while enjoying a panoramic view. The aquarium there is also worth a visit as it features a conveyor belt which moves under a body of water holding a variety of aquatic creatures. While you’re there, do try to catch one of their Sea Shows as well to see some beautiful mermaids!

Dam Sen Water Park

Last but not least, Dam Sen Water Park in Saigon is divided into 30 parts, and features several activities, restaurants, and shows including a floating restaurant and a lake similar to West Lake where you can fish. There’s even more: a puppet show, a bird garden, a sports center, a water park of course and the Nam Tu Royal Garden. Arriving there gives you a sense of peace and it is like a breath of fresh air! The Water Park contains a wave pool, water sliding rides, and rides for enthusiasts of all people. Some of the most prominent rides that you can see include Kamikaze which is a speedy waterslide measuring 19m in height, a Massage Pool covered by greenery all around, a Black Thunder fully enclosed slide which is pitch black has unique sound & lightning effects and a Love Storm that comes with terrifying twists and turns. The park also has numerous counters selling fast food and drinks for your convenience. Dam Sen Park is located in District 11 and is open every day except for Tuesdays.

A trip to a Water Park should be a mandatory event for every family, the adrenaline rushes and fun there simply can’t be matched anywhere else. Plus, there is something very relaxing about floating down on one of the ‘Lazy Rivers’ that make you feel as if the waves were carrying all your stress away.
